Glossary

Here’s a list that explains the slang and terminology that can be found on this site:

  • MKDS: Mario Kart DS.
  • MK7: Mario Kart 7.
  • MK8: Mario Kart 8.
  • MK8DX: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
  • VR: Versus Rating—points that can be earned by playing online races (VR can also be earned in battles in MK7).
  • BR: Battle Rating—points that can be earned by playing online battles.
  • Max VR: The highest possible obtainable amount of VR. This value is set on 99999 in MK7, MK8 and MK8DX.
  • Max BR: The highest possible obtainable amount of BR. This value is set on 99999 in MK8 and MK8DX.
  • Max CR: Max Combined Rating—having max VR and max BR in the same game. It was known as WVR until December 29, 2019.
  • AMR: All Max Ratings‎—currently having MK7 max VR, MK8 max VR, MK8 max BR, MK8DX max VR and MK8DX max BR.
  • VR2, VR3, VR4, etc.: Max VR reached twice or more on different accounts by the same player.
  • BR2, BR3, BR4, etc.: Max BR reached twice or more on different accounts by the same player.
  • CR2, CR3, CR4, etc.: Max CR reached twice or more on different accounts by the same player.
  • AMR2, AMR3, AMR4, etc.: AMR reached twice or more on different accounts by the same player.
  • SVR: Simultaneous VR—two max VR reached in the exact same race or battle.
  • SBR: Simultaneous BR—two max BR reached in the exact same battle.
  • SCR: Simultaneous CR—two max CR reached in the exact same race or battle.
  • SAMR: Simultaneous AMR—two AMR reached in the exact same race or battle.
  • 3×SVR, 4×SVR, 5×SVR, etc.: Triple, Quadruple, Fivefold… SVR—three or more max VR reached in the exact same race or battle. The highest SVR is 7×SVR in MK7 and 6×SVR in MK8 and MK8DX. It was known as TSVR, QSVR, and n-way SVR for 5≤n≤7 until December 29, 2023.
  • 3×SBR, 4×SBR, 5×SBR, etc.: Triple, Quadruple, Fivefold… SBR—three or more max BR reached in the exact same battle. The highest SBR is 12×SBR in MK8 and MK8DX. It was known as TSBR, QSBR, and n-way SBR for 5≤n≤12 until December 29, 2023.
  • 3×SCR, 4×SCR, 5×SCR, etc.: Triple, Quadruple, Fivefold… SCR—three or more max CR reached in the exact same race or battle. The highest SCR is 12×SCR in MK8 and MK8DX. It was known as TSCR, QSCR, and n-way SCR for 5≤n≤12 until December 29, 2023.
  • 3×SAMR, 4×SAMR, 5×SAMR, etc.: Triple, Quadruple, Fivefold… SAMR—three or more AMR reached in the exact same race or battle. The highest SAMR is 12×SAMR.
